03. How can I use the YIP USA telephone service?
The use of the YIP USA service requires YIP phone equipment. To purchase the equipment, check the website www.yip.com for the products available. Once equipment is purchased, an account is also included in your YIP package.

04. Who is YIP USA offered to?
YIP USA is offered to individuals and businesses that need an innovative telephone product that can reduce the cost of international long distance calls by 50% on average; calling to the USA and Canada with a low rate from other countries in the world.

06. Can I use YIP USA for national long distance in a country different than the USA ?
YES, YIP USA can be used for national long distance calls in your home country.

07. Are there limits on the number of calls that I can made from my YIP phone in a month?
No limits as long as you have enough balance funds in your YIP account.

08. What telephone numbers can I call from my YIP phone?
All local and international numbers can be dialed from YIP phones to any country in the world, except for toll free 800 numbers in the USA and 911 emergency numbers.

09. What equipment do I need to use YIP service?
We have four models ready to buy now:

YIP phone KE1020 that only needs an RJ-45 Ethernet Network connection, and

Three YIP phone models USB KU1120B, USB KU1000 and USB KU1130 that needs a computer with an internet connection that can be dial-up or Ethernet Network.

10. Do YIP phones work with any operating system?
No, YIP USB phones work only with Microsoft Windows 98 2 nd ed. 2000 and XP.

11. Does YIP have a software interface to load into my desktop?
Only the YIP USB phones have a software program to install, but the actual USB phone is the hardware interface that let you dial telephone numbers.

12. I have a Macintosh. Can I use USB YIP? What if I use Linux or UNIX?
No, currently only Microsoft Windows operating system is supported with YIP products for these Operating Systems our solution is our KE-1020 phone that does not need a computer.

13. What are the rates from YIP USA to call other Countries?
Check YIP website www.yip.com for latest international and local rates.

14. Is YIP Phone to YIP Phone calls free? Or I have to pay for those calls?
Calling in the YIP network is free.

15. Are there any hidden fees, charges, taxes or connection costs?
Absolutely no hidden fees, charges, taxes or connection cost for all YIP active accounts.

16. What methods of payment do you accept?
In the USA all major Credit Cards, Recharge Pin is available all over the world.

17. What is YIPUSA refund policy?
There is a 14 Days refund policy.

18. When can I make calls after signing up?
Immediately

19. When does my calling credit expire?
After one year.

20. Do I need to open a new account when my funds are finished?
No. You only need to recharge your account.

21. Do I need a separate account for YIP Phone to YIP Phone service?
No, same account for all type of calls.

22. Can someone else use my account?
Yes, if you have more than one YIP phone you can share your account, but the account can not be used at the same time on different phones.

23. When I sign up will I get spam email?
No. YIP USA does not share your private information.

24. Can I try out YIP service before I sign up?
Yes you can, during Shows and by contacting Distributors.

25. Why is IP telephony less expensive than conventional calls?
IP telephony converts voice into IP packages and also compresses these packages, so they need smaller bandwidth to be transmitted than regular phone calls (PSTN).

26. Will the YIP phone work with any IP telephony service?
No, the YIP phone will work only in the YIP network for free and to call the PSTN telephone numbers you have by the minute charge (prepaid system).

27. What type of call quality should I expect from my YIP?
The Quality of service is very good as long as the Internet connection speed you are using is good and stable, your call will sound similar to one placed from a regular phone, mobile phone or PSTN phone.

28. Do I need to touch anything on my computer to place a call?
No, if using the USB phone, make sure the computer is connected to the internet and just pick up your telephone handset and call as you normally would with any PSTN or mobile telephone.

29. Is there any limit to the number of FREE YIP Phone to YIP phone I can make and receive?
No. Just place or accept your call using your YIP phone. This service is of course the most convenient if both parties have a YIP phone unit installed because is free.

30. Will any type of Internet connection work with my YIP phone?
Yes. With USB YIP telephones any type of Internet connection will work including dialup modem, leased line, DSL and cable modem as long as the speed and throughput of it is at least 22.2 kbps.

31. Will the YIP Phone work with my ISP?
Yes. The YIP Phone will work with your ISP if you have any problems please call customer service.

32. Will the YIP Phone work if my Internet provider blocks certain ports in an attempt to prohibit Internet telephone calls?
No, the YIP phone is designed to work with TCP and UDP special ports for internet telephone service. Please contact us if this is the case as a special configuration may be required to circumvent this type of situation.

33. May I use my YIP Phone line with a wireless internet connection?
Yes. There is absolutely no need to be tied to your desk to place calls remember that you need always to have an internet connection to use the YIP phones.

34. Can I use my YIP phone from behind a NAT firewall?
Yes. You may need to open up a few TCP and UDP ports on your firewall depending on the type and current settings of NAT firewall you have installed.

35. Can I use my YIP phone with the Windows XP operating system firewall activated to place phone calls?
No. The YIP phone is not compatible with the Windows XP firewall, please uncheck the firewall option.

36. Can I listen to music or work on my computer at the same time I am placing a call with my YIP phone?
Yes. If you have broadband access and adequate processing power on the computer to do so. Most of the latest model computers can handle this with no problem, If you are a dial up user this activities can reduce the quality of the phone call.

37. Will my YIP USB Phone require any external power?
No, it is self powered via the USB connection from your computer, if you have a RJ-45 YIP phone you will need an AC adaptor that is included in the package.

38. Can I place calls while my computer is sleeping?
No, YIP phones need Microsoft Windows operating system to be up and running

39. Can I receive calls on my YIP Phone from out of YIP network telephones?
Yes, it is possible if They dial a list of Access numbers that provide this service in the USA only check at www.yip.com to see the current access numbers offer by YIP USA .

40. Does DTMF (Dual Tone Multifrequency) work?
Yes it supports the dual tone multifrequency.
